Orange and Grand Marnier trifle

I had this at the Granary Grill but it had jelly at the bottom! Horrors!

This is good with any orange liqueur .

Recipe to follow when I’ve tested a few variations, but in essence this is what it is:

Bottom: caramelised orange segments in syrup on a sponge base
middle: custard with cardamom
top: liqueur cream very thick dusted with cocoa powder and thin strips of candied peel
